2018 New Hampshire Tackles Hunger
High school football season is here New Hampshire! For the sixth year in a row, the NHIAA is partnering with WMUR and the New Hampshire Food Bank for the 2018 New Hampshire Tackles Hunger Food Drive. Throughout the NHIAA Football season, select games will serve as food drives for local food pantries.
In the previous five years of this effort, 270,000 pounds of food have been collected and distributed to food banks in communities across New Hampshire!
New Hampshire companies and organizations have already begun donating to this year's cause:
- Dead River Company and Hannaford have teamed up to supply all 58 NHIAA varsity football programs with a $250 Hannaford gift card. Select students for each school go shopping, teaching them valuable lessons about philanthropy and their communities.
- Mascoma Bank has donated additional Hannaford gift cards to local schools.
- WMUR has placed a collection box in their office for employees to donate non-perishables. WMUR photographers will bring bags of food to every NH Tackles Hunger game they cover.
For the second year in a row, we will have 100% participation from NHIAA Varsity Football schools!
