Athletes Supporting Athletes: #BarberStrong

Lebanon-Stevens Girls Varsity Ice Hockey player Julie Barber recently had surgery to remove a tumor from her spine. The surgery kept her out of the 2016-2017 Ice Hockey season. Her story has caught the attention of many around the state, including here at the NHIAA offices.

When Manchester Central traveled to Lebanon-Stevens for a game on February 22nd, the Little Green players chose to show their support for Barber by wearing #17 Barber Strong buttons and taking a group photo following the game. Our thanks to Dawn Gagnon (Women's Hockey Association of Central High School) for sending in the photo. "Manchester Central was elated have the opportunity to support Lebanon and their player. This is what sports is about... athletes supporting athletes!" said Gagnon.
