NHIAA Athletic Administrative Assistants Conference

The 12th Annual NHIAA Athletic Administrative Assistants Conference was held on Thursday, January 10th, and Friday, January 11th, 2018 at the North Conway Grand Hotel in North Conway, NH. The Conference is offered to all of those interested in working through the daily issues associated with school-based athletics at the school level. The information covered at the conferences range from Schedule Star and the NHIAA website, to things that administrative assistants may do outside of the NHIAA but are seeking a better or easier way to get through the day. The 2018 Conference was, to date, the most attended conference with 24 people on Thursday and 20 on Friday! The sharing, assisting, and bonding that takes place at this conference is irreplaceable.

The NHIAA would like to recognize those schools in attendance and share some of the comments made by the attendees this year. Thank you to Bedford High School, ConVal Regional High School, Dover High School, Exeter High School, Kearsarge High School, Kingswood Regional High School, Laconia High School, Lebanon High School, Manchester Memorial High School, Nashua High School North, Nashua High School South, Nute High School, Pinkerton Academy, Plymouth Regional High School, Salem High School, Souhegan High School, Spaulding High School, Stevens High School, Newport High School, Winnacunnet High School, and Winnisquam Regional High School.

"Outside of the specific NHIAA and Schedule Star/Big Teams training, it is always nice to meet with peers and talk about our specific cultures and practices at school and get to finally put a face to the names we all see multiple times a year." Ray, Manchester Memorial HS

"It's a great way to talk with your peers and see the different ways we all do things to complete a task and the pros/cons of what works best for your school. Also a great arena on asking questions of NHIAA and being in comfortable surroundings (i.e. peers) to do so." Holly, Salem HS

"This conference is informative and is a great opportunity to discuss/review ideas with our peers." Ashley, Nashua HS South

"It was great to meet the other admins. Really helps put a face with a name. I learned some good information from each admin or AD that I met." Jen, Winnacunnet HS

"It's nice to be able to put faces with people you deal with in your job and to realize that although we all work directly with athletic directors, our jobs are all very different. It's a wonderful opportunity to brainstorm and to realize that others share the same frustrations. I only wish I had started attending sooner." Kathy, Plymouth Reg. HS

Planning is currently underway for the 13th Annual NHIAA Athletic Administrative Assistants Conference next year. For more information about this conference, please contact Donna Plumb at the NHIAA office.
