New Hampshire Tackles Hunger 2020

It's time for our annual NH Tackles Hunger food drive. The 2020 NH Tackles Hunger event will look a little different so we can keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. The need is greater than ever. For the last seven years, we have included the 58 high schools in the state with varsity football teams. This year, we will give all 89 high schools in New Hampshire the opportunity to participate.

In seven years, NH Tackles Hunger has collected 455,000 pounds of food which equates to 380,000 meals for NH families. We will not be collecting food items as we have done traditionally. Instead, we will have one big day of giving for NH Tackles Hunger in which we will ask for monetary donations. Those donations will be made through the NH Food Bank's secure website. Any contributions can be directed at a community of choice so that the money will directly support that community's local food pantry. In addition, schools that raise at least $500 for their local communities will receive a gift of $500 for your local food pantry through the generosity of the Lois Roy Dickerman Fund.

WMUR is encouraging student-athletes, coaches, and teams to have fun with their participation in NH Tackles Hunger. WMUR would love to see teams create videos and photos and post them to social media using #nhtackleshunger and tagging WMUR. Your team could be seen on TV!

The big day to donate will be Monday, August 17th 2020. A Back to School Special will be aired on WMUR at 7:00pm that evening. The event will be promoted on channel 9 all day. Click here for the link to donate.

We look forward to our schools participation in helping our neighbors in need!
