Subway® Partners with NHIAA to Celebrate Senior Student-Athletes
The New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Subway® Restaurants of New Hampshire, wherein the locally owned and operated locations across the state will serve as the “Official Partner.”
The partnership will celebrate high school student-athletes across the state, introduce scholarship opportunities for seniors through a student-athlete scholarship award, and help schools through discounted catering services for NHIAA members.
"We are thrilled to partner with NHIAA and award a $1,000 student-athlete scholarship to one outstanding athlete this year,” said Dave Beckwith, local Subway owner and Business Development Agent for the New Hampshire Subway territory. “The Subway® brand has always encouraged our youth to live a healthy and active lifestyle, so this partnership is a perfect fit. We look forward to expanding our local involvement in the athletic community across the New Hampshire High Schools and recognizing their outstanding accomplishments."
The new student-athlete scholarship will be funded by Subway® and awarded to a senior who displays excellence in the areas of academics, athletics, and community service. Seniors set to graduate in 2021 may apply for a $1,000 scholarship to be funded and awarded directly from local Subway® franchisees. A link to the application can be found here, and one winner will be selected and announced in May 2021.
Additional features of the Subway® partnership include the creation of a social media campaign that will pay homage to the senior class. The Subway® Senior Shoutout campaign will encourage schools, families, and fans to recognize NHIAA senior student-athletes by posting to the league’s social media platforms as each sport season concludes throughout the year.
Subway® will also provide a helping hand to schools by offering NHIAA members discounted catering rates to feed their teams healthy and nutritious meals throughout the year. With an additional presence at NHIAA Championship events, fans will have the opportunity to win coupons and gift cards to their nearby Subway® restaurant as well.
“We appreciate the support from Subway and its franchisees,” said Jeff Collins, Executive Director of the NHIAA. “We are excited to celebrate our member schools’ student-athletes alongside our new friends at Subway and look forward to working with restaurants across the state for many years to come.”
